Payment


You do not need a doctor's referral to consult a physiotherapist or massage therapist.

Although treatment in private clinics like Shelburne Physiotherapy is NOT covered by MSI, most private medical plans do cover it. Plan benefits vary widely, however, so we recommend that you check your plan for details. You will be responsible for whatever your insurance does not pay and we ask for payment at the time of service.

Patients with approved workers' compensation claims are fully covered for physiotherapy.

Motor vehicle accident patients are covered for physiotherapy, massage therapy and acupuncture therapy under Section B of their automobile insurance.

Most DVA patients are covered for pensionable injuries.

We are familiar with most insurance policies covering our South Shore patients and, with your signed consent, we can direct bill many plans, relieving you of any paperwork and payment concerns. We welcome your phone calls or visits to ask questions about the coverage of your health plan. What we do not know, we will find out.

Please know we do not provide direct billing for Osteopathic Manual therapy treatments. We ask you pay full cost upfront via method of cash, cheque or e-transfer. Therapist will provide a paid in full receipt of which you can submit to your private insurance plan for reimbursement purposes if benefits are eligible.

Confidentiality


Everything we learn about you, what you tell us, what we observe, what we learn from other medical reports, we keep completely confidential. We will not release any information about you to anyone, including your doctor, your spouse or your insurance company, unless you have given us written permission to do so.
