How We Can Help

How Do We Promote the Well-being of Our Patients?

First, our attention is completely on you, your goals and personal circumstances. Second, we see ourselves as your partner in the process of reclaiming your health.  We recognize that your body has a remarkable ability to heal and our goal is to direct and speed the process.

We offer physiotherapy, occupational therapy, kinesiology, massage therapy and acupuncture. Your personal treatment plan might include any or all of these treatments. Your therapist’s recommendations and all treatment options are always discussed with you BEFORE any therapy begins.  Only after you have made your choice and given your informed consent will treatment commence. This healthcare partnership continues throughout your treatment. Both you and your therapist will continuously reassess improvement in your symptoms.

How Will You Know It's Working?

For most patients, knowing whether therapy is helping is not a problem, but sometimes that might not be so. At each visit, as well as making our own reassessment of your condition, we will ask you to tell us whether you have seen improvement in your symptoms. If the answer is not obvious, these are some questions you might ask yourself:

  • Have I been able to return to work or my daily activities?
  • Can I carry more weight or the same weight more easily?
  • Can I walk/run farther, or faster, or longer?
  • Do I have less pain or am I pain-free for longer?
  • Are my balance and coordination better?
  • Do I have greater range of motion?

Part of Your Healthcare Team

In-clinic treatment is only part of our patient commitment. We firmly believe in patient education and take the time to explain the origin, treatment and, very importantly, the prevention of problem conditions. Our goal is your good health and fitness and a quick return to a satisfying lifestyle.

With your written permission, we will keep your referring physician and/or family physician informed of our clinical diagnosis, the planned course of treatment and the outcome of that treatment. If necessary, we will obtain copies of imaging reports and will consult with your physician to coordinate care, for example post-surgery or during pregnancy.
