Convenience

With the convenience of our South Shore patients in mind, we offer before and after work appointments, direct billing of workers' compensation and most private insurance plans. Our clinic is completely wheelchair accessible.

No Referral Needed

You do not need a doctor's referral to consult a physiotherapist or massage therapist. Please note, however, that insurance plans provide varying benefits and some private insurance plans do require a physician's referral. We would be happy to help you determine your benefits and to communicate with your family physician. 

Workers' Compensation

Shelburne Physiotherapy is an approved clinic for the Workers' Compensation Board of Nova Scotia (WCB). If you have suffered an injury at work, the WCB's Direct Access to Physiotherapy program accords you immediate access to assessment by an approved physiotherapist.

The Direct Access to Physiotherapy program is based on the belief that early assessment and treatment of an injury helps to speed healing and hastens return to work. You need not wait until you can get an appointment to see your physician (although you are, of course, free to do so). You can start the process yourself by calling our clinic. Alternatively, you can be referred by your employer or a WCB case worker.
